Managing and Creating Datasets

ElixirData allows you to create, manage, and analyze datasets easily.
This guide walks you through accessing datasets, creating new ones, uploading files, and managing them effectively.

Accessing the Dataset Section​

To access the datasets:

  1. On the sidebar, hover over the Dataset option.
  2. A sub-menu will appear — click Add a Dataset to proceed.
  3. The Datasets screen will open, showing all available datasets.

Viewing Existing Datasets​

On the Datasets screen, you can see a list of all existing datasets.

  • Use the search bar to quickly locate a specific dataset.
  • Existing datasets are listed with their name, description, and creation date.

Creating a New Dataset​

To create a new dataset:

  1. Click the Create button on the Datasets screen.
  2. A modal window titled Create Dataset will appear.

Filling Dataset Details​

  • Dataset Name – Enter a descriptive name (required).
  • Description – Add a short description (optional, but recommended).
  1. Click the Browse File button, or drag and drop files into the upload area.
  2. Supported file formats include CSV, Excel, JSON, or TXT.
  3. Once uploaded, the file will appear under Selected, indicating it’s ready to be added.

Managing Previously Uploaded Files​

Below the upload area, you can see files from past sessions.

  • These files are unselected by default.
  • To include any file in your new dataset, simply check the box next to the file name.

Finalizing the Dataset​

  1. After selecting the desired files, click Create Dataset.
  2. Your new dataset will now appear on the Dataset Home Screen, along with all existing datasets.

  • Give datasets clear and descriptive names for easier identification.
  • Include relevant files from past sessions to maximize insights.
  • Use the search bar to quickly locate datasets, especially when managing many files.
