Elixir AI Assistant

The Elixir AI Assistant is your intelligent conversational agent within ElixirData. It allows users to ask questions, analyze uploaded data, and interact with datasets seamlessly.

By default, every user sees a Default Agent, which can answer general queries. Once you upload a data source, the assistant can also process your files and provide insights.

What You Can Do With Elixir AI Assistant

1. Ask General Queries

You can ask the assistant any general business question.
For example:

  • Can you tell me about the ElixirData platform in short terms?

2. Analyze Uploaded Documents

The assistant can analyze files you upload from your local system.
Currently supported formats include .docx, pdfs, .xlsz, .csv

How it works:

  1. Click on Attachment button
  2. Click Upload File from local.
  3. Select a Word document or any from your local system.
  4. Ask questions about the document content — the assistant will summarize, extract insights, or answer queries based on the file.

3. Query Dataset Sources

If you have uploaded structured datasets (like CSV files), the assistant can run queries and provide insights directly.

Steps to use datasets:

  1. Click on Attachment button
  2. Click Select a dataset.
  3. Select an existing dataset.
  4. Ask questions like:
    • “Show total sales for Q1.”
    • “Which employees are in HR department?”
    • “Summarize the dataset content.”

4. Connect Multiple Data Sources

ElixirData allows you to connect to external data sources to fetch real-time insights.
Supported sources include Postgres and other database types.

Steps to connect a source:

  1. Click Add Data Source.
  2. Select the source type (e.g., Postgres).
  3. A modal window opens where you need to enter:
    • MCP Endpoint – the URL to your server
    • Server Type – choose the type of database server either SSE or HTTPS.
    • Environment Variables / Headers – provide any authentication or config values
  4. Click Connect. Once connected, the assistant can query this source and provide insights.

💡 Quick Tip

When connecting multiple sources:

  • Always provide accurate endpoint and server details.
  • Include all necessary environment variables or headers for authentication.
  • You can combine multiple sources in a single session to generate richer insights from different datasets.
